With the human population growing every day, industrial farms turned to the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides years ago to try to keep up with demand. These chemicals are causing damage to the environment, wildlife, people, and our dogs.

The runoff of chemical fertilizers contaminates rivers, lakes, and oceans and also rob soil of organic matter. When this happens, the soil is less able to hold moisture and more susceptible to erosion.

As far as pesticides and their long term effects on dogs go, some is still unknown, but the likely effects are quite clear. Many have been found to contain cancer-causing carcinogens. Others have been linked with problems with the endocrine system, and neurotoxicity. With limited exposure, negative effects are often not apparent right away, and only time will tell what the long-term effects are. Some studies have shown that up to 30% of your dogs exposure to chemical pesticides and fertilizers come from choosing low quality food and treats that aren’t organically produced!

At Wet Noses, we have never used ingredients that have been subjected to these dangerous chemicals and we never will. The “USDA Organic” label on every box of Wet Noses treats is proof of it. It is part of our commitment to the well-being of you and your best friend.
